Find The Happiness By Reading A Book

Last Updated on May 30, 2024

It is undeniable that a blogger must have a hobby of writing. But you know, that most people who like to write started with a hobby of reading. People who like to read will get a lot of insight and knowledge so that they will easily pour new ideas into writing.

Apart from finding new ideas, reading can also be one of the best healing methods. When we are tired and stressed, try reading light stories. Subconsciously we will discover a new world while reading and life will be happier.

Types of Books for Healing

I have enjoyed reading since I was in school. Starting from reading textbooks to comic books that hit at the time. In addition, I also like reading books with light stories. Sometimes I also read motivational books. From there I get a lot of inspiration to live my daily life and write works.

So, talking about books that are good for healing, I prefer books with light stories. It can be a novel, a collection of short stories, or a collection of short stories in an anthology. Stories that are light and not too long don’t take much time to complete. And certainly can restore positive energy in the body after a tiring working day.

Recently I was reading a book entitled “Merajut Hikmah (Finding Wisdom)”. This book contains 30 inspirational stories written by 30 Muslim students in Taiwan.

Anthology Books

An anthology is a book that contains a collection of similar literary works (whether in the form of short stories, essays, or poetry) that have the same theme and are published in one publication. Talking about anthology books, I really like reading the kinds of stories in books like this. Besides, it doesn’t take much time to finish a story, and we also won’t get bored easily. Because the story in it is always changing. As a bonus, short stories like this mostly carry a positive and inspiring message.

In fact, I started reading anthology books when I was children. From children’s stories, stories of the prophets, to the witty tale of Abu Nawas, I continue to enjoy reading short stories until now. I don’t need to mention the titles, you just have to choose a lot of anthology books with inspirational and extraordinary stories that you can choose according to your individual tastes.

If you want to see my taste, Dee Lestari’s books are one of my favorite books. Starting from his novels to short stories, it suits my taste. In addition, other books with stories that contain grammar and messages of the good life, I also often read to the end.

From a love of reading, believe me, you will be fond of writing too. Because reading and writing are one unit. Writers who don’t read less will have difficulty coming up with new ideas. Likewise the owners of knowledge who do not write, then the knowledge will just disappear.

My First Anthology Book

As I mentioned earlier, the type of anthology book I’ve been reading lately is the book “Merajut Hikmah (Finding Wisdom)”. In fact, I also became one of the authors of the 30 stories. This is my first anthology book with 29 other Muslim friends who are studying in Taiwan.

Overview of this book

Living in a country as a minority Muslim group is certainly a challenge. Trying to find and consume halal food, find a place to worship, to set aside time for worship. Perhaps this is what the author is facing as a Muslim minority in Formosa, Taiwan.

As the title of this book, Merajut Hikmah, is a form of self-reflection from the journey and experiences of 30 Indonesian Muslim students in Taiwan, in their endeavor to study as well as recognize and introduce Islam. This anthology book, which was compiled at the initiation of the Indonesian Muslim Student Forum in Taiwan (Formmit), is expected to be a forum for students to educate each other, share information as well as inspire through a thread.

Be Happy By Reading

If you don’t know, I’m currently studying in Taiwan. Apart from college, I am also the mother of my 2-year-old son. Surely there is not much time for healing let alone me time. Even though I really needed time for healing after I was tired of struggling with college assignments.

In the free time that I have, I usually use it to write a blog, cook, sew, or read a book. Actually, free time is not completely free time. Sometimes, when I’m tired of college assignments, I often steal time to heal by doing something more relaxed, such as writing a blog or reading.

After the weekly meeting with the Professor, on Thursday, March 24, 2022, yesterday I took the time to read the book “Merajut Hikmah (Finding Wisdom)” after it had been a long time since the book arrived in Taiwan. Even though it was only an hour, I was quite happy to be able to take a little time to balance my emotions and thoughts.

The thing that makes me happier is being able to read accompanied by milk tea and waffles. Plus reading in a cozy and cool place. What other favors would you deny?

If you want to read with me, please take 1 hour to read your favorite book. I made the video “Read With Me Pomodoro” with a relaxing piano background and a timer to help you concentrate on reading for an hour. Do healing by reading at least one hour a day to live a more balanced and happy life.
