The developers have changed the title of this game so many times. It was first known as “Motorsport Manager Online,” then it changed to “Motorsport Manager Racing.” Currently, they have reverted it to “Motorsport Manager Online.”
Compared to other racing managers, this game gives you a rich experience managing your motorsport team. In addition, you may compete against up to 9 other players worldwide simultaneously.

Gameplay
You will be given 2 cars and drivers as your motorsport team. Then, it’s up to you as the manager to raise your team to be the best worldwide. Hire better drivers and engineers to increase the winning chance. Funds shortage? Don’t worry! Sign sponsors to earn more rewards (even without having to race).
You can also play in career mode, from the lowest 1st tier to the highest 7th tier. However, you should research and build better car parts to compete in the higher racing tier.
Before joining a racing event, you have to prepare your best drivers and cars. Also, there are 31 strategies you could apply for each of your drivers, including aggressive strategy, qualifying boost, and power ERS.
Subsequently, during the race, you should constantly manage several aspects, such as:
- at which lap a driver should go to the pit stop (and may repair the car’s reliability),
- what tires do a car use at the start and after a pit stop (e.g., soft, medium, hard, intermediate, and wet),
- when will a driver need to change the power and tire wear mode (e.g., high, medium, and conserve),
- when will a driver activate the boost, and
- fuel consumption and availability during the race.
Pros
Various racing competitions
There are several types of cars in Motorsport Manager Online. Those include Open-wheel, GT, Formula E, Stock, Endurance, 60/70/80’s Open-wheel, and even Concept cars. However, Endurance and 60/70/80’s Open-wheel cars are the paid versions.
Although any competition has a similar concept of “management,” each has unique rules. For example, in a Formula E event, you can use “Fan Boost” and “Attack Mode” features which give a temporary burst of power.
Driver and engineer contract management
Drivers have their own choice. You will need to negotiate the contract with the driver before hiring them. While there’s no guarantee they’ll accept the deal, you may have to try a few times.
Meanwhile, you can only choose one (head) engineer to improve the average pit time and the part fixes.
Multiple players in one racing session
In a single race session, there are up to 10 players worldwide. Therefore, you may compete against up to 9 other players simultaneously.
Generous paid currency
While other mobile games complicate the earning of paid currency, Motorsport Manager Online generously offers it to Free to Play (F2P) players. Also, the in-game items are inexpensive to buy using the paid currency you have earned.
We know that several aspects, including several types of cars and liveries, can only be purchased with real-world money. However, even without buying these items, you can complete your career. In addition, you can even win the race by only using “free” cars.
You can watch ad videos to earn more free money, and recommended in the early career mode. Meanwhile, if you often win the race, especially in the exhibition race mode, you will get abundant resources, even without watching the ads.
Cons
Battery-draining game
Motorsport Manager Online is one of the battery-draining games. Although it may differ in every mobile device, you may need to charge constantly your mobile phone while playing this game.
Only supports Facebook account
Until today, Motorsport Manager Online only supports Facebook accounts to sign in and secure the game’s progress. Even after several years, Playsport Games (developer) does not implement other sign-in methods to connect the game account. Although, we believe that it may not be a problem for most people.
Paid game version for a better experience
If you enjoy the Motorsport Manager Online, we recommend purchasing the Motorsport Manager Mobile 3. Although the concept is the same as Motorsport Manager Online, Motorsport Manager Mobile 3 gives you more depth experience in managing various racing competitions and your team. It is also available in Google Play and App Store for less than 10 USD. In addition, the MMM3 supports augmented reality with its new Camera mode.
Other than that, Playsport also offer the PC version of Motorsport Manager, available to download via Steam. It has more complex game mechanics than the online or mobile version, with many mini-games on the racing event.
